We believe people are capable of far more when learning connects to their world. By combining hands-on exploration with design thinking and STEM concepts, we help learners discover connections, develop confidence, and turn creative ideas into meaningful experiences.

Meet the Founder
My Life with Design was founded by Penny Greene Draves, a fashion designer, patternmaker, and educator with more than 25 years of experience in apparel design and fashion education.
Throughout her career, Penny has believed that creativity and learning become more meaningful when people can connect new ideas to something they already understand.
“I learned patternmaking one year after taking geometry—and it took decades before I realized the two were connected. What if someone had shown me that connection when I was 16?”
That realization helped inspire My Life with Design: a place where fashion becomes a bridge between creativity, education, and real-world problem-solving.
Today, Penny brings together her experience in design, patternmaking, and teaching to create opportunities for learners of all ages to discover what they’re capable of.

At My Life with Design, we envision a world where creativity opens doors to learning, confidence, and new possibilities.
Through Design to Runway Challenge, Geometry in Motion, and hands-on fashion design experiences, we are building opportunities for people of all ages to explore ideas, discover connections, and express their creativity.
Our vision extends beyond the classroom. We aim to make design accessible through educational programs, creative technology, original fashion doll clothing, and professionally developed sewing and knitting patterns.
